Environmentally Sustainable Designs

16 Dover st, Cremorne

TekNova Consult's design sets a new benchmark in ecologically sustainable design.  Using passive measures like shading, insulation and double glazing to reduce the need for air conditioning.
The office features the following:
- an energy efficient HVAC system can save up to 40 percent of usage energy

- installation an energy efficient, controllable lighting system that maximises the use of natural light.

- installation of Building Management System (BMS), which allows for fine control of lighting, heating and cooling systems.

- use renewable power sources on site (Solar PV)

- lift installation that are programmed to prioritise the most energy efficient option and capture energy from their brakes.

50 Station st, Burwood

The block consists of 22 apartments. BCA requirements,First Rate, Table J6, Deemed to Satisfy provision was applied during the design stage.

1404 Dandenong Rd, Malvern

The block consists of 20 apartments. A minimum 6-star energy efficiency rating where achieved using an approved computer-based energy rating program. BCA requirements,Table J6, Deemed to Satisfy provision was applied during the design stage.

305 Buckley st, Essendon

Mix development:9 apartments and modern dance studio.6 star Energy service rating were performed by an Accredited Assessor Michael White.

Arts & Scince Building, Bacchus Marsh Grammar School

Innovative passive thermal and solar design principles proposed by TekNova ESD consultant allows decrease energy usage in the building.

Heating and cooling is controlled through a digital system that is part of the security and timing switch system.

Water conservation is committed integrating rainwater harvesting and grey water recycling to arts science building.

Artificial light is provided by high frequency T5 ballasts reducing the lighting load to approximately 10 W/m2. Motion detectors and light switches arrangement ensures that only occupied areas are lit.
